Blue Ocean Waves

I was born into a family of artists. My grandfather and great-great-uncle were both art professors at universities in China. My great-great-uncle, Jiao Kequin, in particular, was one of the most important artists who combined French Impressionism with traditional Chinese art. Even as a child, my grandparents taught me to observe nature. I enjoy drawing moments that deeply move me and resonate with me on a personal level. Over the years, I have continuously refined and deepened my painting techniques for still lifes, landscapes, and portraits. Ten years later, I began studying art at Oxford Tutorial College. In 2017, I transferred to London Metropolitan University, where I graduated with honors in 2020. This year, I completed my master's degree there. I participated with great interest in the graduate program at the Royal College of Art in London. Through specialized modules such as "Mapping & Narrative," "Language & Body," "Culture & Identity," and "Environment & Memory," I have developed a deeper understanding of the content of painting. This has enriched and deepened my research and artistic practice, which in turn contributes to improving my artistic expression. This holistic approach will shape my future painting style. Newton said, "If I have seen farther, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants." I would like to develop my own style by drawing inspiration from the great artists. I am on my way there…
